__ROOM OUTSIDE

Grow out of the classroom
We are unique in that we combine the skills of an established landscape designer with those of a primary school teacher with over 10 years experience working outdoors with children.

Room Outside brings inspiration to teachers, children and school communities. They enrich the lives of so many children through their exciting designs and provide wonderful opportunities for the children to explore nature through their workshops.

How do we work?
We work in consultation with children / staff / school communities in design and construction.

We believe that if children are involved in the process of planning, designing and building their outdoor environment they will feel a real sense of achievement. They can become ‘caretakers’ of their outdoor classrooms.

Funding your project
We can give advice on how to find funding for your project. There are many grant and award schemes open to primary schools to help them improve their grounds. We are professional members of Learning through Landscapes who provide support and information about funding.

The design process
Throughout the design process we can help you to deal with the real issues in the school grounds:

* Division of space
* Reducing congestion
* Sight lines
* Visual appeal
* Vandalism
* Compatibility of spaces
